Is there mitigation in God's Court? Can you give an example?
During a whole lifetime a man lived knowing he was betraying God. Would there be mitigation in his final trial so he could get by (be saved)? In his last counsciousness second, on his death bed, he in thought asked for God to forgive him but he is troubled because on his whole life he was coward in not siding with God. Now he is dying. Can God comfort him in that agonizing last moment and give him assurance that he will not be killed or the man will die in great despair? Doesn't Lucifer know enough God's legal matters to claim to God that that soul belongs rightfully in him?

NO
You accept jesus as your Lord and saviour before you die.
There is no chance after you die.
Death bed confessions are not likely to be granted.

The Lord in heaven is no "fool" despite the efforts of mankind to "justify" their "salvation" by speaking for him. "My" Father in heaven is not this "God" of the world and it's religions. He neither punishes, kills or plays this role of a God of "Wrath."
WE are the ones who choose our destiny. That is by our BEHAVIOR or as the religious wish to call it, "Sin." MOST people in dire circumstances including DEATH will gain FEAR of it and they will try to grab hold of some humility. Do you honestly think that the Lord in heaven will THROW out the 99% of a persons bad behaviors for the 1% of good gained in fear? Does the justice system "throw out" the sentence of a serial killer simply because he becomes religious? SAME point. The Lord is not about to let anyone enter heaven who has not shown they are WORTHY, and it is not gained by trying to prove it with WORDS, "regarcless" of what ANY religious doctrines of this world SAY. Most have "doctored" up their holy words to excuse many bad behaviors "yet" in the end the only FOOL is the one who BELIEVES in the LIES they are taught to believe in..........................

I think most theologians would say that as long as a person asked for forgiveness, God would give it, no matter where and at what time.

I think the Albert Brooks movie "Defending Your Life" covers this pretty well.
