What happened to my pansies?
I had nine pansy plants of varying colors in a large planter. They were flowering fine and I was picking off the dying blooms regularly. The plants themselves look fine. However, instead of pansies I'm now getting VERY tiny little white flowers. Imagine a daisy about half an inch in diameter.
I have pansies in two other pots and they aren't doing this.
What's wrong with my pansies and is there a way to get normal flowers again?

Pansies are a cool weather flower, and do much better in spring and fall. Put them in a cooler spot in the shade and try to keep them alive until fall, and the blooms will return to normal.

Here in oklahoma pansies don't fare to well in our heat. That could be your problem. We plant them in the early fall and they are hardy through sometimes Feburary.I think it is the heat.

are they part of the same plant? because there is a type of plant like a mum that grows mini-daisies. but if it's the same plant...maybe they were cross pollinated? but if it is the same plant...that's just strange. maybe you should try fertilizing? but bring a clipping to your nursery, because they're the experts!!
