new to birthcontrol pills, when do i start?
It says to start the first sunday after your period or the first day of your period. My period started last friday and ended yesturday and i just got my birth control pills today (wednesday). Do i have to wait until my next period now? Or can i start them today?

Check the package; it may come with a sticker to put over the days so you can start them anytime. My OB/GYN recommends that you wait until your next cycle. Whatever day it starts, start the pills on the following Sunday. If you start on Friday, start the pills Sunday. If you start on Sunday, start the pills that day. Just be sure to use an alternate method of birth control until then, and for the first month you are on the pills. Good luck.

You can start them today, in fact, take one now. The first sunday is about remembering when to start the new pack. Its still close enough to your period to work well without upsetting your cycle.
