Black Dogs. Evil or OK?
I am worried. I have crossed the path of a Black Dog many times since moving into a house with my girlfriend/wife who owns a black dog. Am I cursed? I know that people are cursed by crossing paths of Black Cats,.. why not Black Dogs?

OMG, pack your bags and get out of there now! Black Dogs are cursed, and you are a bringing years and years of doom and bad luck to yourself by staying there. Next time beware the black dog, and beware the woman who owns one!!!!!

I seriously hope you're joking. But because its an excuse to spout absolutely useless mythy type information I'm going to answer all the same.
As far as I can tell the only culture where dogs in general are considered 'bad' would be some of the Middle Eastern countries and that has nothing to do with the color of the dog. In European legends the only time you have to worry about a black dog is if it has red eyes and shows up only during the night. White dogs with red ears are supposed to be fairy dogs and that's usually a bad thing. And an old wives' tale says you should never trust any dog that has yellow eyes.
Black cats were considered bad luck because they used to be assumed to be witches familiars and out on evil mischief for the witch. Dogs never had this problem.

Black Cats is just a myth they say it curses you because some guy passed a black cat and made up that curse.Black dogs are not really a curse because Dogs hate cats and cats hate dogs.
I had a black lab for 2 years and I crossed a path of him and Affie was sent to the pound I felt sad but no curse at all.

OK. I had a black dog for 151/2 yrs he was a darling baby...I have 2 black cats now ...one is a total sweetheart and the other is still mad at me for bringing home the 2nd one ..they are just like kids not curses. Those little brats cross my path 50 times a day...if they were bad luck ..shouldn't I be dead,in a coma at least, or maybe a paraplegic??...but I'm none of the above so chill out and quit acting like a freak.

You shouldn't worry. According to Wikipedia, it's only a Western superstition popular among most European countries, and even that only applies to black cats, not black dogs.
You shouldn't worry even if you cross a black cat's path. It's all cultural and different places have come up with different ideas of what is good and bad luck. Wikipedia says that in Scotland, a black cat on your porch meant upcoming prosperity. =) My mom is from China and she says there's no good or bad belief surrounding black cats. Dictionary.com says superstitions aren't based on knowledge or reason. My Random House Webster's dictionary even calls "superstition" an irrational belief.

The left card represents an important element of the past. The Hanged Man, when reversed: Masochism. Self-imposed confinement. Potential release from bondage.
The middle card represents a deciding element of the present. Page of Staves: A young person of faithful countenance who, even unintentionally, helps others. An unofficial Hermes: a carrier of important news, an envoy, a guide, a pleasant stranger. A suave, bring and noble soul.
The right card represents a critical element of the future. Page of Swords: A Passionate young person given to seeking out the heart of the matter, even to the point of spying. Vigilance and quiet intensity.

Thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard. ppl just believe when things are black, it must be evil. And when things are white, it must be in some way, shape, or form," good". Its very reminiscent of society. And just because it is black doesn't mean it is any different than any other dog, or cat.
Seriously, look in the dictionary, the word black, and then the word white. You'll see what i mean.

Black dogs are cool. I have one and have never been cursed by crossing paths with her. Black cats are supposedly the spirits of witches so accordingly they are evil. I don't believe in it but it's whatever you want to believe!
