springfield XD, 4" vs 5" barrel?
Am i correct to assume that the tactical model of the springfield XD will have less recoil then the service one in the same caliber, due to weight and barrel length

I own both the 5" Tactical and the 4" Service model in 45acp. Bought the 4" model when the first came out, before they were Gun of the Year nearly 2.5 years ago. When I started using the 5" model I was surprised how nicer it fired - both the reduced recoil and the increased sight radius were a huge plus.
However, since I bought the 4" model specifically for concealed carry - I would rather carry this 4" smaller version.
If you have no interest in carrying concealed 24/7 and only ocassionally - the 5" model is the way to go.

Yes but very little of a difference. I own both the service and tactical and both shoot very smooth.
