Griffin won. I don't really think it was THAT close. Rampage did look good at times but Griffin clearly controlled the fight. The only real damage to Griffin was the knockdown at the end of the first round. Here is the link to watch the fight.

It was either a tie or a Rampage decision but there was no way that Forrest won. I'd have to go back and watch the second round because I know a few people(I think the judges did too) scored it a 10-8 round in favor of Griffin. If that's the case then the fight should have been a draw. It did look like Rampage was in trouble that round but if you look at the rest of the fight it seems as if he recovered well enough and continued stalking Griffin who, in my opinion, did a lot more backpeddaling than Rampage. This is one that should have an immediate rematch.

Griffin won a RAZOR close decision and to me it was a draw. Half the pro fighters believe Rampage won. To me it was scored like this

    1. Rampage 10-9

    2. Forrest 10-8

    3. Rampage 10-9

    4. Rampage 10-9

    5. Forrest 10-9

For the final tally of 47-47 prompting a draw. To me Forrest didn't do nearly enough to take the title that night. Rampage even stated that in the post fight interview but then kind of retracted the statement saying he wasn't a judge. The UFC is talking about an immediate rematch between the two and I hope it happens.

Everybody who I know that has seen the fight sees it differently, based on who their favorite was. I like both guys, and I really think that the fight was a draw. Both of them had their moments. Neither dominated the match. Rampage controlled the first round. Forrest controlled the second. It was back and forth the rest of the time. In the exchanges on the feet in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds, Forrest was more aggressive, but Rampage more often than not landed the more damaging shots. The case can be made that Forrest winning the belt was more of a business decision than anything else, seeing as how he is the bigger fan favorite.
