tan(x) = sin(x) / cos(x)
It holds that sin(x+π) = -sin(x) and cos(x+π) = -cos(x) (this is obvious from the geometric meaning of the functions), therefore tan(x+π) = sin(x+π) / cos(x+π) = (-sin(x))/(-cos(x)) = sin(x)/cos(x) = tan(x).
