Deuling Drangon is Disney?

I just read on DisneyWorldTrivia.com that Deuling Dragons at Island of Adventuer was really mad for Disney's Animal Kingdom, but the ride was too intense and since IoA was opening around this time. The Disney comapney sold it to them.

so anyone know if this is true or not?

Update:

I know that it does have some connection with Disney.

but what?

acutally, the story goes something like this...

When building animal kingdom, there was supposed to be a land filled with mythological creatures. unicorns, dragons, etc. but because of going over budget and being behind schedule, the scrapped the idea. when the park first opened, there used to be a cave shapped like a dragon's head and even fire used to shoot out of it. plus there was a roaring sound. if you look at the Animal Kingdom logo where it has a line of animals walking, there is a dragon at the end. plus at the front gate there are several animal heads (elephant, etc.) and one of them is a dragon. plus one of the parking lots is called... Unicorn. anyway. there was supposed to be a dragon inspired coaster. they scrapped that idea (roller coasters usually cost in the millions) and the design team that was working on it was laid off. universal hired them because they were in the process of building Islands of Adventure and they developed the ride for IOA. i have heard this story from several sources and believe it to be true.

    Not true at all.

Universal had the ride(s) from the start, and never had any interaction with Disney.
