Back up hundreds of photos to external hard drive? 10 points!?

We're going on vacation tomorrow and we want to back up all of our personal photos on my father's laptop onto an external hard drive he bought in case something was to happen to his laptop. Obviously, you can open each individual and re-save it into the hard drive. Seeing as we have hundreds, even thousands of photos, that's not the most practical way. ;)

So how can we back them up, folder by folder? 10 points for best answer. =)

Right click on the top most folder and select send to (external drive) whatever it's called. That will copy everything in that folder (including subfolders) to the external drive.

Just click on one folder and then hold down the control key and click on all the folders, then just right click and select 'Copy' and then browse to the external hard drive and select 'Paste'. If you have thousands of pics it will take some time no matter what.
