What do your think about the guy who complained about using the term "black hole" in a meeting?

Has political correctness gone so far that we can't say "black hole" which is a scientific term, or "devil's food cake" ? Enough is enough. What do you think?

Update:

I watched the video of the meeting where this happened. It has been all over the news today.

It is sad that the world has come to this. We have to watch what we say now for fear of offending others. What a load of crap. This guy is a complete moron just like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. These idiots are so hypocritical. Black hole, this is a term that has no racial meaning. Devil's food cake, ok well since I am a Christian then that is bad and we need to rid of that, we now have to call it God's food cake. These guys and people like them like to take anything they can and spin it to make it look like they are being harmed so they can make the news and/or get their way. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Dubois, Washington, Parks, etc would be appalled at what people like this are doing today. It is amazing how things have reversed, if anything some try to segregate themselves then say that everyone else is being racial but of course every group of people in life have extremists I guess, Christians one of the worst, they make other Christians look bad. This country is going down fast and its stuff like this that makes it worse.

OMG - what a load of crap!!

So, is the term 'white-wash' also racist? How about the "Brown Bess" musket used by American soldiers in the Revolutionary War - was that a racists name? Of course, we already know that the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians are racist, but is it also racist to talk about "yellow snow" being bad to eat?

Come on people, racism has to have some element of INTENT - the person using the supposedly offensive term should know that it is offensive and intend it to be offensive before he or she can be called racist.

Words are not racist - people who use them for insulting and demeaning purposes are. One classic example is the "N" word (can't say/write it here ...), which is the worst epithet in the English language if used by whites, but black rappers and others can (and do) use it repeatedly and publicly with impunity.

Let's start showing a little common sense.

Is that true? I can't believe that. Its a scientific term. It describes something that truly exists in the universe. I almost don't believe that this became a pc issue. I can't believe anyone would object to it, I mean.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little doubtful this story is true. Black holes is an established scientific term, and even an established figurative term.

If what your say is true, what's next? Describing the night as black is somehow racist?

The story is true. It happen at the Dallas County Commissioners Court. A little bit oversensitive, aren't we Mr. Price?
