How long for Glucosamine/MSM to Start working?
The vet recommended we try this for our 10-year old female dog, who is having hip problems. She's an unknown breed from a shelter, not overweight, but having problems getting up from her rug.
She has always had mild hip displasia - has that funny bunny-hop run, but is otherwise in great shape for an old dog.
If anyone has tried it, about how long did it take before the results showed up.

I use glycoflex with my 11 year old bc for about a year or so now. It started to show a little after the first week. But there was a lot of improvement over a month or so. It will be slight you will notice she can get up better and run better. My bc started jumping a little for the frisbee again instead of waiting for it.

Well when the glucosamine stopped working we had to switch to stronger meds, but I thought it worked right away. I could be wrong, it has been a while. We had xrays to keep an eye on the stages of arthritis, and what other issues the dog had, and adjusted to the meds from there. When things got rough, we used an old bath towel, and put it under the dogs belly, and held an end in each hand and lifted the dog that way until the legs started working. I would ask the vet when they thought you might see a result.
