What's "error 1706" during Microsoft Office 2003 installation?
My computer came with Microsoft Office 2003 - Standard Edition. I accidentally removed it and did a system restore. I don't have and I don't want to activated the entire program, but only want to use MDI - Microsoft Digital Image. So, it kept wanting to install all over, if when I tell it not to.
Here is the message: "setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see C:\Program Files|Microsoft Office|OFFICE11\SETUP.CHM."

man, I got your message, but this problem is so "different" from the "usual" ones! Well, the the only solutions I can think of is to get Word 2007.. yes, the only solution...
oh wait, not only solution! Install "ccleaner" then remove/uninstall Office 2003 using ccleaner and then re-install Office 2003.. (but not sure if that will work)
