Literary Names?
What are your favorite literary names?
We are toying with using one as a middle name. As of now, we have:
GIRLS:
Talia Irulan (Irulan from 'Dune')
Alia Eponine (E from 'Les Miserables')
Talia Esme (E from a JD Salinger short story)
BOYS:
Joel Edward (E from Sense and Sensibility)
Colin Rhett (From Gone with the Wind)
What are your faves?
Les Miserables was first a book, written by Victor Hugo in 1862. The musical came out in the eighties.

Alia Eponine and Joel Edward from your choices are adorable. But if it was me I'd change the girl name to Alia (but spelled Aleigha) Esme. It sounds good and flows nicely. Joel Edward is terrific! Grea name. Good luck and congrats! :o)
Edit: I forgot to mention my fave names...probably Romeo and Juliet. I love those names. Although I would definitely NOT do a sibling (brother/sister) combo and use both names. That'd just be weird. "Romeo! Juliet! Time for school!" No no no.... lol

Alia Esme is really cute!!
Colin Rhett is cute too!
I also found the name Elena in a book and love it.
I like Dean because of Dean Koontz.
I like Sayre and Laurel(I can't remeber the name of the book)
I love Nathaniel(Nate) like Hawthorne, actually Hawthorne would be a cute name too.

Favorite literary name is Holden.
Holden Caufield from A Catcher in the Rye.
I also love the name Scout (not as fond of Jean Louise), but don't know if I could do that to a little girl.
To Kill A Mockingbird is my all time favorite.

I love to read, so I'm a big fan of literary names. :o) From Shakespeare, I love Bianca, Beatrice, Ophelia (such a sad story!!), even Juliet (although I prefer the spelling Juliette). :o) "Les Miserables" is my FAVORITE musical, and of course, Eponine just melts my heart, so I love that idea! :o) Cosette is also very pretty....as is Fantine. :o) From "Phantom", I really like Carlotta (even if her character wasn't likable, lol). I also like Darcy for a girl (ie from Mr. Darcy, in "Pride & Prejudice"). :o) Another neat and very different name is Antigone (from Sophocles' classic tale of Oedipus' daughter).
For a boy, it's unusual, but Fitzwilliam (from "Pride & Prejudice") or Fitzpatrick are neat names. I really like Cedric (from "Ivanhoe" as well as, more recently, "Harry Potter"). Other neat ones: Caspian (ie "Prince Caspian" of the Chronicles of Narnia..love those books!), Westley (from "The Princess Bride"), Gilbert (from the "Anne of Green Gables" series), Valmont (from "Les Liaisons Dangereuses", as well as many movies based on the novel).
Hope that helps! :o) There are lots of options for ya! Good luck!!
