Starting School?

How old is a child in the US when they start full time school,is it 4yrs old like in the UK,or is it different.

Also what age do you go on to do higher education before univercity.

    Some schools, not all, offer Pre-k or pre-school. And age 4 would be just right for that. So it can be either 4 or 5 and sometimes 6, or 7 and going up to age 18 or 19, but sometimes its just until age 16.

    Kindergarten is really not required, but its so mainstream and really does help that we don't question it...research actaually shows pre-school helps tremendously as well.

    I suppose it depends on the state...

    Students in the US start elementary school at age 5. I think age 14 is usually when students enter high school.
