Life has gotten MUCH simpler since the internet has flourished.

I like the fact that I can pay all my bills online, saving me the 42 cents and hassle of writing checks or buying money orders every month. And as far as that's concerned, being able to check your bank account balance at the click of a mouse puts a person at ease.

I find it horribly convenient the ease of ordering pizza online, paying for it online, and having it delivered to your house 30 minutes later.

Can't remember that thing you heard on the radio, or the name of that actor you saw in a movie. Since the invention of search engines, and multiple online databases, there is virtually NOTHING in the entertainment field you can't find online.

Schooling has gotten more convenient for working adults and single parents since the internet has expanded. Many of us are able to get our college degrees in our spare time, with the ease of internet access.

And one of the best things since being plugged in..... I love being able to play games with friends in different states or countries.... all from the ease of my own living room.

There are so many more things I didn't mention, but yes, life is so much easier since the internet. It's the one thing the US government did right; they did invent it, after all.

There's an endless amount of information you can find on just about any subject without even having to crack open a book. You can do your shopping online of any kind. People can run their businesses online which makes it capable for a person to work anywhere. It's opened up a bunch of doors in media that were never there once before. It's an amazing networking tool whether you're chatting with someone on AIM, finding people on myspace, or otherwise. There's bundles of entertainment options from watching movies online, downloading music, playing games, etc. Virtually the internet has made it possible to never leave their house! Which brings to the complicated downfalls. Because a person can do all these things it takes away from the things in life that were before and still are whether it be meeting with a friend for lunch, shopping at a mall (not online), or simply taking a walk and breathing in some fresh air. The internet has made life less personal. And while you can network with thousands of people online you may not have many real and genuine relationships face to face. You can't compare the two, they just aren't the same. That's why it's both. As with most things in life it has it's positives and it's negatives.

There's more information coming into me! How can anyone here (who remembers the time before the modern internet) say their lives are simpler?! The world is growing as one large community on the internet, usually divided by languages though. There's just...an infinite amount of information now. Ignorance is bliss. Not knowing much leads to a simple life. But people are curious and want to know a lot. Want to see a lot. And the internet allows people to have an unlimited supply of it. People who can't control addictions get sucked in! I would always play online games, when I was little, then when I got into school and research projects, I always used that, (I still do) and nowadays, other than schoolwork, I go on Yahoo! Answers, Windows Life Hotmail and Messenger, and many games. The Internet has made my life entirely easy. I can find whatever I want to search for, including information, pictures, videos and websites. Anything I want is right on the Internet. The Internet has never made my life complicated, never! Whenever I'm bored, the Internet is a life saver, whenever I need info or pics, the Internet, yet again, and whenever I feel like chatting, and someone's on the phone, the internet makes that possible. I think you all get the point.

Both in a sense.. I love it for financial purposes and convenience however when the Internet is not available I almost have to remember what i did before...lol...for example I need a phone # to a restaurant use the phone book. I was born in the 80's so I don't remember a whole lot life w/o the Internet...but the biggest source of information I do remember was either the phone or the library. I also love the Internet for being able to collaborate and share ideas with other people around the world that you would have never had the opportunity to before. So in other words life is simpler and more fun with the net, but things can be pretty complex when it is not available.

I do remember life before the internet. It was very similar to life after the internet. There's just more stuff to play with now.

My life has gotten easier in the sense that I have established more connections with people - I can email my friends, I can answer questions on Y!A, I can play games with people who I don't even know. I can look up anything I want to know in a matter of moments. I can fuel my desire for knowledge, I can sate my curiosity. I think that's the best part about the internet: knowing that you have infinite information at your fingertips, that if you're wondering about anything at all, or are curious about an abstract subject, you can find out about it with some skilled Googling and a little luck.

But my life has also gotten more complicated since connecting to the internet. There's SO much to do online that it's often difficult to peel my face away from the computer screen. It detracts from other daily activities, like being with friends or running errands. Of course, who needs to do those kinds of things anymore now that there's IM? Online shopping? The ease of the internet is what concerns me. Someday people will stay inside all day: work from home, shop online, communicate only via email and lose all connections to the outside world. This is not what the internet should be, but it's what the internet is becoming. The World Wide Web should be a supplement, not a staple. The trouble is, we want to find easier ways to do things, and now we know how. We're not about to give that up.

I'm in my sixties, so certainly, I can remember life before the Internet. I would say that life has gotten a little more complex since I plugged into the Internet, but I would also say that it has become more fulfilling. No longer do you "wonder" about something and then forget it before the next time you're near a library. You can find out virtually anything if you're diligent and tenacious. It's like having a library on your desk. You have access to events in real time. You can compare different sources and weigh evidence in a more meaningful manner.

You can visit a museum half-way around the world. You can order pizza, buy tickets to a concert in another city or donate to a charity without leaving your home. You can have a library of all your favorite music and try out music to which you might not ordinarily ever listen.

Earlier this year my computer was in the shop for about a week and I was literally lost without it. Indeed, the Internet makes my life more complex but simpler all at the same time.

I do remember before the Internet was commonplace, and I notice how easy it is now to see what is going on in the world. It now takes less than a minute to find out what happened on the other side of the world. The only determining factor in how long it takes for me to see it is how long the person waits before uploading it. Absolutely anyone who has an Internet connection cane put stuff on the web, so I get a virtually unlimited amount of opinions on everything from the United Nations to swiss cheese. I would always play online games, when I was little, then when I got into school and research projects, I always used that, (I still do) and nowadays, other than schoolwork, I go on Yahoo! I think my life has gotten simpler since the internet. I don't have to spend hours on the phone just to let someone know that I am thinking about them. I can just send them a quick e-mail letting them know I care. Also, when I need information, I no longer have to run to the library and do research. I can do it from my home in much less time.

The internet has proven to be priceless when trying to research and diagnose my daughters illness. Sadly, Doctors these days do not have the time to give the attention to their patients that they once did. It is helpful to have an idea of what you want them to test for before you walk into the office. Being an educated parent or patient is the key these days to competent medical care. Even with the internet, it took a year and a half to diagnose what was making my daughter nauseated all the time. I shudder to think how long it would have taken without the benefit of being able to do some research on my own!

The only place that I can see that it has become more complicated is when it comes to my child using the internet. There is a lot out there that I just feel I can't protect her from. Parenting software can block some sites but it doesn't block pro-anna (anorexia) sites. It has it's limitations. As a responsible parent, I have had to spend more time checking out where my daughter goes when she is on the net.

After weighing the pro's and Con's of internet access though I would have to say it is much better to have it than to do without.

I don't think it made my life any easier, nor did it complicate my life.

What the Internet did though is that it opens up a whole lot of opportunity for me to pursue almost an endless amount of information there is out there.

Lets say in a hypothetical situation where I'm living in a place, a country that has very little or no information at all on a particular subject that isn't a popular thing locally. Its almost impossible for me to further pursue further knowledge in that field of interest.

With the Internet, everything became possible. I have access to all this materials that are from other places around the world that is not practically feasible for me to physically go there to access these information.

Furthermore, with online message board and forums, it enables people of a certain interest or field from everywhere around the world to come together and discuss and share information.

So, the Internet certainly have changed my life, and generally, I am a much more knowledgeable person than I ever will be without the Internet
