when will Wii Fit shortage end?

this is what me and my sister did.

i have been looking at wii fit trackers and when it said in stock for like bestbuy.com i clicked and it was sold out. i think they are a little late so i suggest buying them at a local store. so after that, my sister and i decided to set a day aside to look for wii fits.

we woke up at 8. looked up on the internet what stores sell wii fit within a 30 minute radius, and went to many store websites and found 17 stores. we wrote the address and phone number on a piece of paper, and went on a mini adventure. the larger stores like target and walmart opened at 8 so we went there first and found out walmart hardly gets any maybe 2 a month and if they do its random, and target will be selling them on sunday (it was friday). so we checked out the places that opened later, around 10. gamestop circuitcity bestbuy toys r us. out of the 5 gamestops none of them had it and they said they randomly get them about once a week. they look at the daily shipments which comes around 11-1 and sometimes they get em in the daily shipments and other times they dont. circuitcity said they got them in but only on random fridays and this was a friday that they didnt get any in. best buy said they have seen 2 within the past month. and toys r us had it and we got it.

half of the stores we went there and half we called to see. I think its best to just go there and see if they have any rather than call because if you call they might have some then when you get there have none. my advice is to call a store or many stores to see when they get wii fits(like what day of the week and time of the day). If they say they get them random fridays and their daily shipments come in around noon, then visit them every friday at noon. if they sell wii fits then they will eventually have them in stock. sometimes in the case of walmart and bestbuy, they have no clue whats going on. it seems like the bigger stores dont know much about their shipments, especially if their is an electronics section and it is only PART of the store, though this is not only the case ex: circuitcity and target.

final advice: if it is a big store that is only partially electronics then chances are they will hold onto them longer so you dont have to be there right when it is displayed. though if it is an only gaming store it might go quick but they are smaller and will be able to give you more advice regarding their shipments. if you wanna set aside a wii fit day like my sister and i did try stores like toys r us walmart target and bigger places like that, but if you wanna check periodically and/or dont have a full day to set aside call small gaming stores and visit/call them daily around the time they get their shipments in. or journey was approx 4 hrs long 8-1130.

Well I have to say first of all I don't know - no-one knows. All I can do is give you some advice rather than an answer, the easiest way to get Wii Fit at retail Price!

1. Amazon get about 50 units of Wii Fit in several times a day. So create an account, or update yours if you have one already, SWITCH ON ONE-CLICK ORDERING.

2. Go to http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/wii-fit-in-stock.asp which is a realtime stock checker. Click the realtime box and leave that window open while you work. It will pop-up several alerts, none of which are any use unless you want to be sold Wii Fit in a bundle. So if it doesn't interest you click "Ignore this alert" and won't pop up again.

3. The info is updated every 60 seconds and sometimes Amazon's stock goes that quickly so you'll be too late. Eventually Amazon will pop-up for £69.99, if you catch it quickly enough and use one-click ordering you should get one by your 2nd or 3rd attempt, assuming you'll be in front of the PC for a few hours that is.

Good luck, and shame on all those greedy eBay sellers selling them for £100 and £20 postage (Amazon deliver for about £2) and also the likes of Game and Gamestation who will only sell you it in bundles with some other useless rubbish you neither want nor need!

only time will tell when the shortage will end. it depends on how many people want it. which is a lot of people. if you have an fye store near you they will take your name. it costs $10 though. but if you find a wii fit before they call you you can get a full refund. most likely you will get a wii fit before the end of the year. it might take a little patience but the day will come lol

It is very doubtful that the shortage will end this year. Nintendo can't produce enough wii fits to keep up with the high demand. Even mario kart is impossible to find in stores. Amazon had wii fits in stock yesterday morning but sold out in 10 minutes. Check these wii fit trackers every day and you wii eventually find one for retail.

I'm not from the U.K. either but I was also having trouble finding one. Mainly because I was trying to buy it from EBgames or Gamestop, the reps are never helpful. Then I started called the big stores like: Bestbuy, ToysRus, Target and so on. They were much more helpfull and told me that they usually get them in on Sundays and to try giving them a call the night before to make sure. I did as they advised and called on Saturday but they informed me that they wouldn't get them in until the following Sunday. Next Sunday I lined up 10 mins before they opened, along with another 10 people waiting for it, and went home with my new exercise game.

With demand so high, it will be difficult to find one in stores anytime soon. Also, retailers rarely know when they will receive shipments, or how many will come in. It depends on what Nintendo has at the time.

i recon you will be able to get one before the end of the year...

the problem with wii things is that they sell out too damn fast!

i remember trying to get just a wii for christmas.

sold out everywhere. i did end up paying double from some guy who didnt want it.

and the moment we got it, wiis were instock everywhere.

so the advice im giving you is to wait ;)

There is no shortage, its a marketing ply to get more buyers
