  • Facebook profile suspended wrongly - what to do? HELP! Urgent!?

I had to ask a club member to leave our group because she has difficulty being nice to others. She blames me. So she used her facebook accounts to Report my profile as violating their terms -- which automatically suspended it.

I filled out the page to request FB review the complaint, but I am not even getting an automated reply back and it's been almost 24 hours.

I don't use profanity, much less use "threatening, violent, illegal, or terrorist activity" . I never received a warning from FB, either. All I know is I Blocker her, she went on a tirade about me on other msg board (which I ignored), and 2 hours later I can no longer log into anything on Facebook.

I am too old and frankly just too busy to play her childish games. All I want is for her to leave me alone.

The non-profit whose page I set up for them is now dead - in the middle of a FB fundraising campaign.

The pet club which is having an event soon is also dead - simply because I was the one who set it up for the group. Every Page and Group I created has vanished.

HELP! How do you get Facebook support to listen? Do I have no recourse?

  • How do I find sources of used book donations for a charity?

Do you have any suggestions on how a 501c3 non-profit might find sources for free books (new or used). This is for a bookmobile / lending library focusing on animal care/welfare topics. Any donated books that don't fit into the lending library will still be put to good use, either shared with other good charities or sold to raise money to support the program.

Thanks for any ideas on how we can create a book drive program. I have tried our web site, Craigslist ads, our email list, & our Facebook page.

More info on what we're trying to do:

  • how to use Ipod buttons?

    I have an Ipod classic.

Sometimes when I am scrolling quickly through long lists, a letter appears in the middle of the screen, and then I can jump letter-by-letter through my library (much faster). But I can't figure out how to trigger it reliably? What should I be pressing?

Also, how do I get it to randomly choose songs on a Playlist? or on the whole iPod?

Thanks for answering these really simple questions.

  • when will Wii Fit shortage end?

Does anyone know when the Wii Fit shortage is supposed to end?

I can't even pre-order it. I can't find a retailer who will even take my name & let me know when one comes in. I see ebay has a few for almost double for what they should be seeing for.

Will I get a Fit before the end of the year? Or is my only hope to pay ebay's inflated prices?

  • not so baby-crazy in the workplace?

Woman is now back from materinity leave with her infant at her side. She puts him on our shared desk. I hoped it was only temporary but he's now 6 moths old.

This is the front reception desk for a professional office building. My job is to greet tenants' clients & route phone calls. It's hard to do with bawling in the background.

She's the building owner's daughter so she's not "wrong".

I can't quit this job easily. But I'm coming home from work with my ears literally ringing from his shrieks. I'm starting to get migraines some days. Sometimes he starts to cry when mom is in another room. I can't pick him up to comfort him... so he CRIES and CRIES and mom is elsewhere.

I tried hinting to her, but she gets defensive.

Why is this OK to bring a 6 mo old baby into an office?

Why wont she put him in one of the empty offices on days he's fussy?

    Am I so wrong ?

Help!!! If it keeps up, *I* am going to start bawling.

  • How does salmonella get into the INSIDE of tomatoes?

The news story about the recent salmonella scare in tomatoes raised a question.

CNN reported that washing the tomatoes was not enough, since the bacteria could be inside the tomato.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/06/10/tomatoes.salm...

If this bacteria comes from farm animals or peoples' dirty hands, it should only be on the outside. Tomatoes don't get infected with salmonella themselves, so it's not like the germ is infecting the plant and spreading.

Can someone with more biology background please explain?

    Thanks!

  • horse population?

I am troubled by the misunderstood to downright wrong information there is out there about the horses appearing in Y Questions recently.

How do I get people to understand two things:

The closure of the TX and IL horse slaughter plants did not cause any spike in abandoned horses. Slaughter market is still alive and well. They're just being "processed" just over the border in canada or Mexico.

Much of the country was hit with a bad year for hay. Add to that a weak economy, and of course you'll have some horses abandoned. These are FACTS, not theories I made up

And at the same time they're not telling you about the way horse are sold, shipped, housed, exported, and killed for slaughter. It's legalized abuse. Did you know they are NOT required to call in a vet if a 'meat' horse breaks a leg or goes down with bad founder? I've seen this with my own eyes. Makes me sick.

Nobody is stopping you from selling, euthanizing, leasing, or donating a horse you don't want.

  • domain name stolen by hosting company?

I paid for a domain name & hosting, and I prepaid annually. It was fine since 2002

Last fall new company bought out old company and didn't tell anyone. They didn't send out rewal notices. My two sites were shut down. I contacted them REPEATEDLY and they don't reply. The few times they did write back theyd "look into it" and it's still not fixed.

Turns out the original company put the ownership and all the control in THEIR name even know I paid for the name. New company locked it so I can't alter or move my name.

I contacted the upper level reseller, godaddy.com, for help. They had me fill out forms, which I did; no reply back. I filed a Reqest for Change last November for both of them formally including sending my photo ID and proof I was paying for the name; no reply. ICANN won't help me.

Right now my site is gone. They put some junky search page up.

The site isn't worth a fortune so I can't hire lawyers, but it's basically my real NAME. It's important to me

  • impossible to lose weight due to back problems, fibro, and CFS?

I'm 34. I'm desperate to lose weight. I had worked hard and lost 50 lbs but it's slowly creeping back on. I've been to doctors for these problems but there is no cure.

I can't exercise more. I'm very active taking care of a small farm, so I am not lying around or watching TV. I just can't do aerobics (it makes me feel TERRIBLE)

Every so often my lower back will flare up, making mobility very hard for a few days.

Food is the only thing that does give me energy, with my chronic fatigue. I've tried sugar-free diet, carb-free, South Beach, organic, macrobiotic,& you name it. I've tried vitamins, supplements, antidepressants,P/T

I tried walking to lose weight, and I ended up with shin spints and more back pain.

I'm still 80 lbs overweight. Too little to get my HMO to pay for a dietician and possibly bariatric surgery (stomache stapling). But it's like carrying around a 80 lb boat anchor wherever I go.

I'm young and keep very busy, but I just can't lose weight

  • need fundraising help to save a horse?

Can anyone make suggestions on how a smaller nonprofit group can raise some funds to help save the life of a

horse? We have a Percheron who was donated to us to save him, but all four of his feet are rotten from neglect (canker infection)

    His story is here:

    www.equihab.com

Our target is $2,000 to cover surgery, medicines, shoeing, and treatment. We've come up with about $500.. but he needs the surgery ASAP and his life is danger

We don't have a big volunteer base yet, so somethng that needs lots of salespeople (like cookie dough) isn't going to work for us right now. It's also fall and nasty weather here so garage sales and outdoor things aren't going to work. I've tried donation jars but so far we only get a few dollars here and there. :-(

Any ideas of an November or December event that we could do on shorter notice?

Is there anywhere I can apply for a grant for medical bills for horses?

Thanks from us at the rescue and from Eeyore the horse!

  • "Answers" encourages kids not to do homework?

What is the point of Yahoo Answers if it lets school kids have others do their homework for them?

    It teaches the kids nothing.

It clutters up the site for real people.

The whole point of a Q & A site is knowlege. Cheating students are the opposite of that.

How do we petition Yahoo to change their policy? I don't mind HELPING a kid figure out a problem, but most of what I see are simple multiple choice questions or "what's the answer to this math equation".

  • Amish shooting -- grieving for someone I did not know?

This may sound odd, but I am grieving for the amish kids shot by that #$% nutcase yesterday.

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/04/amish.shooting/in...

I don't know anyone involved, but I see Amish every day & Lancaster Co is nearby.

This making me sick. I am sickened to be part of American society. It seems like nobody is safe from this trend of malicious disgruntled ppl -- usually younger white men- on shooting sprees.

Maybe I would feel better if there was a way I could help? But Amish take care of their own and don't take outside contributions.

Does anyone know of a way non-Amish can help these folks?

I feel ashamed to be American when I see this kind of crap done to defensless people.

And will this insanity ever end? There's got to be something really wrong with America to have shootings keep happening. This isn't normal! This didn't happen 50 or 100 years ago. I feel now like nowhere is safe.I also feel like our police are worthless until after the fact

  • Where in Kentucky to move w/ horses? (not racehorses)?

I'm looking to move from built-up Maryland to somewhere very rural & scenic, and Kentucky seems to have some nice areas. Where would you recommend?

So far Danville and Houstonville seem nice & have affordable land. Casey Creek area looks even cheaper. Any comments? Anywhere else I should be looking?

How is the property tax situation?

I want a farm because I have horses (NOT racehorses, no interest in being near their farms). I want friendly & neighborly, but not drunk rednecks shooting at everything that moves. I don't mind middle-of-nowhere. I do mind anything resembling the movie Deliverance... scary!

And are there equestrian magazines/newsletters for Kentucky (that are NOT about racing or TB/STB racing farms)?

    Thanks in advance!
