FFXIII isn't a PS3 exclusive anymore!?

Yea but whatever at least they didnt completely take it from us. Oh well Versus XIII is still exclusive though.

This came as a big surprise to me as well, since the last time Square-Enix spoke about FF13, they stated that not only was it a PS3 exclusive, but that it would never show up on the 360. Oh well, so much for that.

Even so, FF13 will be released in Japan on the PS3 first. At that point, they will start translating the game into English, as well as start working on porting the game to the 360. At some point later, an English version of FF13 for the PS3 and 360 will show up in the US. I don't know if it'll be a simultaneous release or not - Square-Enix didn't say anything either way about that. The European version will show up shortly after the American version. You'll note they will NOT be releasing a Japanese version on the 360. Personally, I think this is the result of Sony paying them NOT to release such a version because it would basically cause all Japanese RPG fans to just buy a 360 since it has more RPGs on it than the PS3.

In the past, it's taken them 1 year to finish the translation for the US, and about 15 months to finish the translation for the other European languages. This means that if FF13 hits Japan next April (the traditional month for FF releases over there) we won't see the game in the US until summer 2010 followed by Europe in the fall of 2010. Yes, that's quite a ways off.

I hadn't heard anything. I prefer Playstation over Xbox but the PS3 is soo expensive I haven't bought it yet. Was waiting for FFXIII!!!

I wonder if I'll even buy a PS3 now...But I bet the graphics will be wayyyyy better on the PS3.

i was quite surprised as well. to think i made such a big deal to my friends when i bought my ps3 with all those followup 'exclusive' games..

we lost gta4 and dmc4 as well. i guess sony has either gotten really lazy or really satisfied with the money they already have.

it's all just an attempt by SE to rake in even more money. where is the loyalty and well kept promises these days from the gaming industry??!?!?! arggg. so mad.

it seems to me like it is just for increased market penetration in the US. More people in America own a 360 than a PS3 so they are marketing towards as large a group as possible. in the end, everybody wins because more people can play and enjoy the game, and SE still gets their cut.

yea its being ported to the 360 so it might not be as good as the one for the ps3

yes its being ported but everybody knows that the ps3 version is going to be better with most likely extra content eventually.

LOL to all people saying Xbox 360's version is not going to be as good as PS3's.... It's going to be the same, don't be fanboys and buy it on the console of your choice...

And YES! It's no longer a PS3 exclusive, they're going to be released the SAME DAY in US and EUROPE, I dont know about Asia...
