Trouble in PS2 Kingdom Hearts (1)... [Yea, I know, it's like, 5 years old, but can anyone help me]?
I gave up on the game a couple years ago when I got stuck in Aladdin's Agrabah but recently got back into it just for fun, and now I'm addicted again, lol!
I've honestly spent maybe 2 hours reading various walkthroughs from the top all the way through where I am now... I have double-checked everything I've done, I've gone back to every planet for anything I missed (except a couple Mythrils or Ethers or whatever here and there) but I'm still at a dead end...
I just locked the Little Mermaid world, Atlantica, but it didn't open up the next world, Nightmare Before Christmas' Halloweentown. In every walkthrough and FAQ I've seen, it's supposed to be the next world, no catches... But I don't see it.
I have seriously gone back and gotten every single ability, item, postcard, torn page, trinity, dalmation, etc that I could have possibly gotten up until this point, and it hasn't helped.
Can anybody think of what I'm doing wrong? Did anyone else have this problem? What am I missing out on?
Oh, and whenever I talk to Cid, the Gummi ship seller guy, he says "come back when you have both navigation pieces." Am I possibly having an issue opening the world because I don't have a good enough navigation system already? I haven't done anything at all with my ship since I started the game a couple years ago (I don't really understand the building thing). Is that all the problem is? I've been stuck for hours. I have tried everything I can think of...
I already beat Atlantica, I can't get to the next world after it... That's my problem.
YES! IT FINALLY FREAKIN' WORKED!!
I kept clicking on the two blue planets, seriously 100 times and it would never work, just make some "dunt" sound (like a computer makes when it's frozen?) but it FINALLY worked just now!
I went back to Atlantica and was goofing around and realized I never put Ariel in my party at all. I swam around with her for a little, fought a couple battles, and now it works. Maybe there was just some kind of glitch in my game because of that??? Maybe you have to to include the world's "feature" character for at least a little while??
I don't know, but anyway, it works now!!! Although it did take me to Neverland instead of Halloweentown... Oh well.

Dennis - I did do all that. I sealed Atlantica. But then I couldn't click on the next planet at all. The name and level area was gray and when I clicked on it, I just kept getting this error sound.
Mr. Jones - There aren't any "gummi ship levels to score on...
The Stricken - I already beat Atlantica. Getting there wasn't the problem.
Zse220 - There wasn't supposed to be a problem, I know, but I literally just couldn't click on the next planet, it wouldn't let me.
Nobody - Thank you. I did try your suggestions, I don't know if they helped or not. But I was able to finally get there
Vivian - lol, that actually was one of the walkthroughs I was following and I even emailed the author. He just emailed me back and said that a lot of people have claimed to have the same problem as me but he can't figure out why since it hadn't happened to him.

haha! it is a great game! i think i might try playing it again too..... it's been a while.
but yea, it most likely was some kind of glitch related to not using ariel. i think she is the only character that you werent required to use at all. but there is no reason why you shouldn't have been able to get to the next world if you already sealed atlantica. the torn pages, dalmations, trinities, postcards, etc shouldnt have affected it at all, but hey, at least you got them all done now, right! the navigation system shouldn't matter at all either. the whole gummi ship thing is kind of dumb anyway if you ask me......
i have also heard of people having problems with the game not letting them to the next world, but it's rare. i do know with new worlds, you usually can't get to them if your coming from traverse town or something, you need to be at the previous world in order to fly to it. so maybe you were having problems if you were trying to get there from anywhere other than atlantica.....
good luck on the rest of the game! the last world is a pain in the @$$ but you'll get through it. enjoy!

ok it took me a while to find an answer cuz its a little confusing lol but here you go:
Atlantica is the world to the south-east of Agrabah. The FAQs put Atlantica before Halloween Town because it has lower star levels which the players tend to follow. Anyway to get to Atlantica you need to position yourself on an adjacent world, e.g. Agrabah and fly to it normally (rather than warping). And depending on where Monstro is your journey may or may not be interrupted by its arrival.
As for the Navi-G Piece, it has no bearing on getting to Atlantica. Just continue on in the game and you'll get it eventually.

It may be the ship.
Not 100% sure since I beat the game years ago.
Try going back and doing the gummi ship levels again and try and get a better score. You may get what you need doing that.

funny my memory card just broke so i'm playing kh1 now too. just locked up halloweentown so i can help you.
i don't know where there is much of a problem. after atlantica you just fly to the next planet... there should be two of them that you havent been to, it doesnt matter which one you fly to because if will bring you to halloweentown anyway.

Maybe check and make sure you've gone through all the black hole things because you have to go to them to warp to some planets. If you've allready done that then try to make sure you sealed all the keyholes on all the planets you've visited (The Olympus place doesn't mater).
I think you have a notebook thing that you can check and it may tell you where you left off and what your supposed to be doing.

Hah! I love that game. Are you sure you have returned to ... Arial's grotto? You have to go there and put in the trident after you talked to the King and defeated Giant Squid lady (whatever her name is). Halloween Town is simple, and if you still have questions just e-mail me.
Also haven't you done the Whale Level?
