Does your pekingese have to front top teeth?
Our little guy does not. See, we just adopted 5 year old Leo from the animal shelter, and we have been doing lots of research on the breed. We figured that since he has been surrendered to the animal shelter, his previous owner just tugged to hard on a chew toy or something, but we're not sure.
The one thing that we can't find is any dental info on pekingeses. here is a link to his funny little mouth condition.

Oh he's adorable :D. He looks just like a brown version of my black peke.
Who, incidentally, I just picked up for some loving after seeing your post, and noticed that she has the same mouth condition that yours does LOL. So I don't know if it's a breed thing, or if ours are related :D
Good luck with him. They really are beautiful little dogs.

oh, he is so adorable!!! you are angels for saving that baby's life! i have a pekingese and she does have top teeth. i'm sure it was a toy, like you said, that got snatched out of his mouth too hard. i know when my little sophie gets something in her mouth she doesn't let go without a fight and i think that's very common in pekingeses. good luck with your little man! with love and patience they are the best companions...i can't say enough about the joy i get out of my baby!!
