Top 10 Reasons why 70% of black women are not married?

WOW - finally someone has figured it all out. I have several black women friends ranging from 25 - 45 years old, and they ALL agreed with you 100%.

REALITY is REALITY - gee, for those of you that call this "racist", you really ARE ignorant. 15 out of 15 BLACK unmarried women AGREED with this - AND they ALL laughed for an hour because it was so true!! What is YOUR problem?

OK well I have met a lot of white, Asian, Latino and other races of women who act the same way! This describes any immature drama queen of any race! Why don't we look at the percentages of other races before we go pointing the finger? How many white/other women are married, divorced or whatever? Before people go posting racist rants, maybe we should look at the big picture?

I know a few happily married black women my age while I (white) have never been married. I am probably the least racist person ever and have dated guys of practically every race. I am just curious now, how much more IS the percentage vs. other races? And could it be more due to social stigmas and stereotypes like the worthless crap reasons you posted here? I am blond and curvy and I notice a lot of black guys seem to have a thing for me, suggesting many may have a preference.

If there is indeed a big number gap between black women and other races, maybe the reasons go a lot deeper than the ones you are suggesting! I have a few black female friends who do NOT fit the type you discribe at all and are wonderful, kind people. I am just curious though, how big is the difference between unmarried black women and other races?

What a sweeping generalization. I'm ashamed that you're a part of my race. You are doing exactly what racists want us to do: divide and conquer.

Many women of other races also do these things, which you insinuate are specific to most black women. But you'll look for any reason to go out of your race which is what you wanna do anyway, just don't dog the sisters for it!

Also, how do you explain black women outnumbering black men 4 to 1 in colleges and corporate environments? If we are all neck-rolling hoodrats, I was wondering how this is possible?

What research have you done? I find it hard to believe 90% of black men feel this way, when most black men I see are with other black women. If you and your buddies are having a hard time finding a good woman, I suggest y'all look in the mirror to find the reason why you are repulsing them!

I am a black woman, my family is comprised of black women and men, most of my friends are black...so I think I know what I'm talking about. You and your wife can sit around making racial generalizations all you want, but it doesn't make it true.

I hate generalizing, but I think the reason is mainly because so many young black males aspire to be playa's and gangsta's rather than good husbands.

As far as I can tell, the number of decent sincere black women looking for a good man far outnumbers the number of decent sincere black men seeking a woman for marriage.

At the same time, black women do themselves no favors by allowing themselves to get pregnant out of wedlock in such high numbers.

I was a little bit afraid to touch this (racially charged) question, but that's my opinion on the matter.

Could it possibly be because 49 percent of the black male population are in jail or prison, or under some form of correctional supervision (in jail or prison, on probation or parole). It could be that women are starting to be more into women than men...and same sex marriages are running rampant across the nation? Maybe, just maybe, the world has adopted the Hip Hop culture, and it has bred a society of desensitized individuals who are looking for their next one night stand with the video vixen they've seen in a video. The possibilties are endless. However, you make several valid points.

I think this list is being very unfair to the women who is the total opposite. Like me, there are plenty of educated, sexy, well mannered ladies out there. The problems is, most, I'm not going to say all but most, black men don't know how to treat a black woman. They take are strength for bitching and our courage for hot tempered also, our past that have shattered our hearts and made us fear for baggage. A real black man can take an independent woman and can handle her. So i guess what I'm trying to say is, if most black men would have treated us right, maybe that list wouldn't exist.

so what if i as a black woman wanted to generalize the black men.

1. always talking bout the man holding them down when they hold themselves down.

2. most dont recognize a good black woman when they have one.

i could easily come up with a general statement for all black men, but you can't judge a whole race of ppl just by statistics or by what you have encountered. that is just stupid. there are women from different races who have the same issues.

I hope some BLACK WOMEN read this and tell you about yourself. Just because you can't KEEP an Ebony Queen & opt for other race women, don't go posting this BS up here.

That is really horrible. Who wrote that? Because it's very racist and sexist. I'm not African-American, and I'm still offended as a woman.

these factors can be applied of any human. that's like blaming the who black community because just one woman acted that way. Blame the indivdual, not the race.
