2000 toyota 4runner vacuum leak?
Does the 2000 3400CC 4 cam engine have a common spot that develops vacuum leaks?
Brian, already did that only I use carb cleaner and spray it around areas I think my be leaking.
Was hoping that there was a common problem area that I could be looking at.

The hoses on the PCV valves are notorious for deteriorated and quite literally falling apart if you disturb them. If I recall, they're located in the center between the valve covers. Obviously searching with carb cleaner or brake clean will also work. Especially check areas where the intake mounts to the engine block. While it isn't common with Toyota, it's not impossible that gasket failure could be causing your leak.

easy way to find a vacuum leak is take a propane torch like you use to fix pipes, with the dcar running, turn the gas on the torch but don't light it.
Pass it along your vacuum lines and if the engine speeds up all the sudden, you have a leak there. The gas will be sucked into the engine causing it to surge.
