Albums/Songs You Like Too Much to Listen To Too Often?
The ones that're so special to you, you "save" them for listens maybe once every few months or even once or twice a year.
You never wanna kill em for yourself.
mine:
"Stairway to Heaven" - Unless you've been living under a rock...on Mars, you've heard this one. Despite what radio did to it over the last 25+ years, it really is a great rock song...just only in small doses now.
"Close to the Edge"-Yes (entire album)
The Beatles- Any song/album. They're a weird case for me. I'll sometimes not listen to them for weeks at a time & then suddenly I'll get a "Beatle mood". I notice it usually coincides w/ being in a really good mood. :)
"Tarkus"- ELP
"Tubular Bells"/ "Hergest Ridge"/ "Ommadawn"- Mike Oldfield
Strange. Yahoo wanted to put this Rock & Pop. ;)
Great calls on "Who's next" & "Bohemian Rhapsody". This is why I've pretty much given up on mainstream radio. Queen have SO many great songs that they Never play.
DIME'- Yup. I Agree. Same with Zepp. Plenty of great songs get ignored on radio.

Two instantly came to mind:
The Who - Who's Next
It's such a great album overall, but you gotta thank Jerry Bruckheimer for sticking Baba O'Riley and Won't Get Fooled again as themes for 2 of his 3 CSI shows...and then thank cable television for showing all 3 series in extreme excess. Overkill is what it is most of the time. I can't listen to this album without listening to the whole thing though, so unfortunately the album doesn't find it's way to my player very often anymore as I try to preserve the euphoric feeling the opening of Baba O'Riley and the closing chords of Won't Get Fooled Again provide.
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Not quite on the same "overplayed" level as Stairway, but pretty close. This one I find I only listen to if it crops up on my mp3's shuffle, OR if I get in the mood to listen to the entire "A Night at the Opera" album.
EDIT: In complete agreement on the Queen comment Fonz -- heaven help if radio got the backbone exposed listeners to something specifically from the Queen or Queen II albums...

Haha I do the same thing with The Beatles, some other albums that I try to save for listens are Bob Dylan's Freewheelin', The Talking Heads '77, and pretty much all of Leonard Cohen's albums as well. Strange how that works, great question.

I actually bought "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" by Kanye as well. I know a lot of people can't stand the guy, but it's actually a pretty good album. I'm not that big of a rap fan, but I can appreciate some of it. I'm probably going to get the Strokes new one soon. BQ: Don't have one, but I'll look into it. BQ2: Probably Julian Casablancas- The Strokes, or Andrew Vanwyngarden- MGMT.

The radio overplays many songs like "Come Together" by The Beatles and "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
Songs that I personally try to save listening to are "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Here Comes The Sun" by The Beatles.
Albums that I try to save listening to are Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I really enjoy Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets, and Ummagumma albums by Pink Floyd. I USUALLY only listen to them on special occasions though. Not because they are over played by me or anyone else. It is just a special endevor for me usually to listen to the entire albums. Piper and Saucerful are some of the best so I just like saving them for the right moment.

Okay maybe I'm the strange one but I don't have one single song or album that applies. I have a lot of music and I generally have never run across that issue where I felt the need tosave something and not play it too often. Some of my very favorite artists - like Pink Floyd & Rob Zombie/White Zombie I play a lot and never tire of it.
