I took an E.P.T test and it said Pregnant - 2 days ago. Today are started bleeding. Did I have a miscarriage?

Will a pregnancy test say you are pregnant when you are NOT? I didn't really want to pregnant since that would be #4, in 5 years. I didn't even take the test in the morning when HCG levels are suppose to be the highest. I took the test in the late afternoon after drinking a lot of water. I am just wondering if I should take another test to determine if I am or am not

Update:

I did have heavy cramping in my lower back and down my legs. I think it may have been a miscarriage but I am waiting a week or so to take another test as someone suggested my hormones may take a few days to level out

It could be a faulty test but if the reading was accurate and you're bleeding it sounds like you are experiencing a miscarriage. A pregnancy test will still read positive for a while after miscarriage as your hormones take time to adjust. If you take a test now and get a positive result once again while you are still bleeding, then you are miscarrying. If the result is negative then it is your period and your last test was incorrect as it should still read positive after 2 days, regardless of the bleeding.

I don't think pregnancy tests give false postives. If you are bleeding heavily, it may be that you are having a miscarriage. It would be advisable to see your Doctor and he could do a blood test, and other check to see whats going on.

If you are having a miscarriage, the hormone levels in your blood would drop, but a home urine pregnancy testing kit would possibly still show a positive test even if this was happening.

Call your doc. If you don't have any cramping it could be something other than a miscarriage. I had a significant amount of bleeding at 7 weeks but I am still pregnant (23 weeks).

    Good Luck!

I dont believe you get a false positive. It could be you've had a very early miscarriage (which are very common), and the only reason you knew you were pregnant is because you used and early pregnancy test. Only way to tell is go to the doc, or wait until your next period is due and see what happens...

This is very confusing. Are you bleeding heavy? There is no such thing a false positive. You may be having a miscarriage, but it seems to me that you need to be more careful since you don't want to be pregnant. Read Taking Charge of your fertility if you don't want to take the pill.

I bled with my daughter and went to the doctor to find out that everything was fine. Scarred me, but all was fine with me and the baby (she is now 2 1/2 years old). I would go to the doctors to find out. I know when I miscarried with my first pregnancy, I did bleed, but I was also cramping and vomiting. I went to the doctors and they told me that I was going to pass the baby sometime within the week. It felt like a very bad period, I felt sick and very crampy. And then I vomited even though they told me I probably wouldn't. Versus when I bled with my daughter, it was light bleeding without any pain or vomiting. I was just told to take it easy, that I might have overexcerted myself.

  • If the test shows your pregnant, then you are.. It was able to detect some kind of HCG levels.. As for the bleeding, if it was a lot, then I'd def see my doctor.. Good luck!

Home pregnancy test are 99.9% accurate and chances are high that you are pregnant. Light periods are possible while you're preggo. I had them the first few months and the dr told me that it was normal. Also since there's that small chance the test was wrong it is possible you're not. You need to go to your dr to be certain of whats going on not asking people on yahoo.

See ur GP immediately. May be normal. Not necessarily the Miscarriage
