Internet connection lasts about 20 minutes, then goes out.?

I have Charter cable internet and a Netgear wireless thing as well.

The normal lights that need to be solid are solid (expect for the one that is connected the the main computer upstairs, having some issues with it and it's at the shop)....but my connection only lasts about 20 minutes. I turn off my laptop and wait about 10-15 minutes and I have the internet again. During the time, the modem lights are not solid, but blinking.

I've tried just about everything that I can think of (unplugging, restarting, etc etc)....I'm about to call Charter and give them a piece of my mind.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, I had to type this up fast. If you need more details I'll provide them later. I just didn't want it to go out on me while writing this.

Update:

"Ensure that your wireless (router set up) isn't releasing after 20 minutes. Change disconnect time to "never" or several hundred hours."

And how do I do that? I've had this set up for over a year and never had a problem like this.

Update 2:

Been using Firefox for a long time.

just make sure that it is not your computer, usialy if the lights are blinking on the modem that is is when the internet connection is being accessed, so when you notice that the connection stops working check to see if the lights are dead, if not then it is likely your computer or web browser, you should try to see if this happens with an other computer, and try an other web browser, dont give your ISP (internet service provider) heck unless you are 100% sure that it is the internet not the computer. Try using Firefox for the web browser it can be download at mozilla.com (it is also free, and really fast, plus safer than IE) if it dose not work with firefox, then you can give Charter heck.
