Foreshadowing in American History X?
When Derrick is arrested in American History X, the police officer hand cuffs him and pulls him to his feet. When the police officer pulls him to his feet, he covers the nazi symbol. Does anyone else think this is foreshadowing? How Derrick stops being a Nazi?

This is definitely foreshadowing. Derrick's experience in prison causes him to change his ways. First he sees that the white group in prison is allied with the hispanic group, and once he befriends the black guy while working laundry he realizes that he has had a distorted point of view all along.
