What is the purpose of "thumbing down" answers????????

you're right!!! i don't thumb down anyone on MY questions, though i WILL on my friend's questions if some answerer is unnecessarily mean...

i NEVER thumb down on a difference of opinion...

I think thumbs done is the weapon of choice for trolls. If they can't get a question deleted they punish everyone else.

Thumbs up means people like you, they really, really like you.

As far as I know there is no purpose and find those that do it really should seek mental health and have personal issues.....
