dell dimension new video card?

I want to fit an NVIDIA 8800 GT overclocked graphics card to my dell computer. (2.4ghz dual core 3gb RAM) I need to know if this is possible with my dell dimension e520. Also will the computer accept an upgraded (standard) power supply? any advice much appreciated thanks in advance.

Update:

Willd I have the available pci-express slot power supply is 350w or something. im concerned that dell systems may not allow diff. psu's etc. thx

The PCI express will allow for the card you want. the power supply on the other hand will not run that card. I would advise a 500+watt for that sort of card. Poss 600 to 650 to make sure but 500 should be easily good enough. As far as i know ive never seen a power supply that wouldnt fit into a case. It should be perfectly fine to upgrade the power supply.

as long as your computer is a standard mid or full tower case and not a mini tower case any standard power supply will work. it's very unlikely the stock dell power supply will be enough or even have the needed video power point. your gonna need at least a 500 watt powersupply for that video card to run stock let alone overclocked you'd better buy the biggest standard power supply made and add water cooling or more case fans because heat is gonna be a real issue.

It comes familiar with a 305 watt ability grant yet that would paintings extreme-high quality with optimum any %. card you purchase. the factor is the E310 is a Pentium 4 3ghz gadget so determining to purchase a particularly severe powered %. card is probable no longer particularly truthfully properly genuinely worth the money. it particularly is integrated %. adapter is a puny 128mb Intel GMA950 so upgrading it would not harm. My suggestion may well be to locate an much less extreme priced PCI %. card it particularly is on sale with around 256 or 512mb of reminiscence yet do no longer spend an surprising type of money on a card whilst the E310's CPU isn't effective sufficient to practice it.

ya that comp should be able to handle it, make sure its the right PCI.... or else it wont fit into the slots. Your power should be good if its not under 500
