I just can't wrap my head around the subject matter(pre-revolutionary war) and the title. Perhaps the meaning will come out in the book

what's wrong with it? How is it worse than Fiery Cross?
Not the last book, btw. Probably at least one more after that from things on her website. Looking forward to it, oh yes...

Well, as it's the 7th (and last?) book in the Outlander series, I can't wait to read it too.
