Do people who play pool play.................?
Do people who play pool, play golf? I mean, you have to get the balls in the hole, so it is somewhat similar.

Not necessarily. The only similarities in playing golf and playing pool, is having a knack for good technique, rhythm, self-discipline, control, and timing.
Many of the people I know who are skilled or professional pool players, are more likely to play Poker or Chess, though many pool players certainly ARE avid golfers. I putt MUCH better than I drive --- I thoroughly enjoy playing golf.
But on the average, I've seen more professional pool players, take to Poker and/or Chess than golf.
Interesting question.
Added note: Tim - I LOVE miniature golf too! I approach each hole as if I'm banking a pool ball. I use the concrete barriers, as I would use the rails on a pool table to bank my golf ball around various obstacles. It's a blast! If and when you come out this way, let's go miniature golfing! We'll play a race to 18 (or lowest score out of 18) for dinner!
.....I'm serious!

I guess some people enjoy playing both. Myself...I can't stand golf. To me, there's nothing more boring to watch or play. And one of the other answerers did bring up a good point, stating that you can play defensively in pool, but there's no chance of doing that in golf. Give me pool any day, and leave the golf playing to everybody else.

As far as your average everyday pool player goes , most of the ones i know don't play much golf. When it comes to the professional male pool players I know that a lot of them are golfers and some are pretty damn good. I was lucky enough to have lunch with a group of them a few years back and that's all they talked about the whole time, their golf games. Johnny Archer had some really funny golfing stories. We were all laughing our asses off. My buddy Mike , who is one of the best 9 ball players I've ever seen , Is also a dominoes champion. Or dominos or however you spell it, lol.

I prefer miniature golf. But I can't speak for other players. In pool, there's a strategic part too, as in trying to give your opponent the least opportunity to do something productive. In golf, you really can't do that.

The two games don't have any more in common then any other sport that requires concentration and consistent form. I do enjoy to play both games though, mainly because I like to put myself threw that kind of frustration... haha
