What is the best way to rid this country of Gangs.1. jail 2. education 3.Deportation or4. eradication.?

Education. But Wait! There are ways to educate and there are ways to educate.

Arm the people. Place a bounty on gang leaders. Post their pictures in prominent places. Those who are taken out, pay the shooter. The rest will get the message. Zero tolerance.

Now if they want to convert their little organizations over to community service and turn themselves in for their crimes, fine.

I just doubt anything short of survival will motivate them.

4. Eradication.

As the definition of gang must include "criminal enterprise" or its a social group or masculine tea party, their really isn't another option.

Jail doesn't stop a gang, it encourages loyalty to the group.

Education is futile....they were driven to join a gang due to environmental and economic pressures on top of weak moral background guidance, what 'instruction' are these folk going to listen too that isn't acquired outside of techniques found in either a 4 year stay at Paris Island or a double deuce in Guantanamo Bay?

Deportation? Its not like we can keep someone from coming back into the country who cares to, so that's a no winner....

Back to good old Eradication....you claim Gang membership or want to tag property or tat yourself with gang markers? No problem...we stack you in a boat to Antarctica on a UN scientific fact finding mission to determine how the addition of a few thousand gang members will alter the speed at which the icepack is melting...they can either stretch out flat side to side so we can measure the icepack for daily changes or they can cluster together for warmth and see if they can increase the mean temperature of the South Pole 1 degree.

education. I think alot of hard working people can not afford to put their kids in colledge so the kids are discouraged & depressed & join the gangs cause it is either give up their freedom by joining the military or have their freedom & join a gang. They can't go out & become what ever they want to be. When ever a society takes care of its's people & makes sure they have a firm foundation they are closer to living their dreams. The hope they can do this inspires them to be self-sufficient. I know in my own life I was such a good kid but I did not have any money to get back & forth from a job. I did not have anyone guide me to get what I needed so I could go to colledge. I would have liked to be a nurse or teacher or stewardess. My mother told me every reason why I couldn't do any of those things & I believed her cause she was my mother. So if I would have had the opportunity to get an education & get away from her I would have been able to grow up & support myself. I have had a hard life instead. I would have been able to do so much for others if I would have been able to take care of myself but instead I have had to put all my energy into survival.

The answer isn't that simple to narrow it down to 1 answer alone.

First, home life/environment is what I believe is the first step to deter people from joining gangs. Pay attention and take care of your kids and family.

Next deterance would be extra activities outside the home life. This would be school, work, sports, etc. If you keep kids occupied with something else, they are less ABLE to join gangs. After all, Idol hands are the devil's tools!

If worse comes to worse, then that is why we have the justice system in place. Its to protect innocent people from these gangs, and to provide future deterence for gang bangers.

Depending on what kind of criminologist you are, you may either want harder punishments for hardened criminals, or to find out their "crime gene" and try to rehabilitate that person in to society by fixing the gene.

Deportation is more of a political issue than a crime issue. Where 1/3 of our inmates are non-citizens, deporting them won't cause them to stop comming here to commit crimes. However, it will help out with out rising prison populations!

1-4 would be a good start. Most gangs are into drugs, drug related crimes should receive a life sentence. Some will say we will need to build more prisons, I say build them, we need the jobs.

Criminals are being turned loose now because of lack of room. I am afraid that the criminal gangs will continue to grow unless there is a revival in this nation and we get back to the traditional family

with two God fearing parents raising children.

4. Eradication, assuming your definition and mine is the same.

Jail is not (usually" a permanent fix. You can't educate those unwilling or incapable of learning. And given there are 12-20 illegal immigrants in this country (US) it is obvious the border ain't gonna stop anyone coming in.

Education, education, education...the only possible solution!!!

And better rehabilitation in jails...it doesn't serve the rest of the country if criminals are learning in jail how to be even better criminals when they get out...

Education in the long run.

make soft drugs like pot legal... but have the same restrictions on them as alcohol, as for the hard stuff if they fined you dealing (must be in the act!) a tall tree and a short rope should do the trick, (the same if you have a lab) if they fined you with the stuff 90yrs-life.

now if that don't take care of it WITH AT LEAST 3 WITNESS, you go to jail for life. with 10 witnesses Death!

You want to get rid of education?
