How did our ancestors during the summer months, keep cool on hot humid summer days? The people of the 1800's to the time of Edison. Thank you for all answers

    simple you stay out of the sun == meals were cooked in early morning or later in the day when it started to cool down!!!

    Probably cool because the had a lot of tree before the economy started to developing

    They probably took baths in the river or stayed indoors.
