Why do so many people think that any silly idea they can think of is as legitimate as any other?

Update:

I was discussing a book with my dad and he says "I have my own ideas about it". That's great but he's got nothing logical to back his claim.

Because there is a new culture of randomness and it really annoys me.

Like annoying 14 y olds that say "I like cheese" and think they are gods gift to comedy. Someone PLEASe pass me a shotgun.

Your dad may have realized that he had different ideas than you, but he hadn't really been able to put them into words yet. Besides, many ideas seem silly at first. The truly silly ideas fall by the wayside, and the good ideas become established...usually. Sometimes a silly idea has to be put into practice before we realize how wrong it is.

Because every person has his/her own individuality and outlook in life..

Sometimes its right based on your personal criteria.. But to others, it might seem a little sloppy or something negative..

    Hope this helped!

They probably do not think it's silly. They could be delusional.
