Setting to have web addresses remembered?

My husband has a fairly new computer and every time you shut it off all the previously visited websites are deleted from the drop down window in the browser.

It has to be something to do with the actual shut down of the computer because you can close the browser and re open it and they will still be there.

Any help is appreciated.

Some installed soft deletes the browsing history at shutdown. Can't help you until you find who's the culprit, there are dozens that can do that.
