Why were Muslims happy in this event?

"The Romans have been defeated - In the nearer land, and they, after their defeat will be victorious - Within ten years - Allah's is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice" (The Romans - Surah 30 - Verses 1:4.

Why Muslims would rejoice if the Romans - Christians - won the war?

Update:

Lynn: That was later when the Roman empire became crazy. In that period they were good Christians.

Because Allah,I guess, rejoices when the believers win,be they Christians or moslems or Hindoos.

Source(s): The prayers that mention we are all children of God.

Not all Romans were Christians - so don't make broad assumptions. The Romans were very into Christian sacrifice esp at the Collaseum.
