Panic! At The Disco...?

So I listened to Panic! At The Disco, and they weren't too bad at all. In fact if they come on the radio I definitely don't mind listening. My best friend Tabitha is madly addicted to them. She calls them her boys, it's kind of funny. But there's one thing I don't understand. What's the big hype about them? I texted Tabitha the same question and she gave me a rather mundane answer. "Psh they are amazing! Their music is very creative and different. And They're so young *cries* My boys!" When I first listened I pictured the singer as some skinny black-haired emo dude, whose voice sounds no different than All American Rejects's or Fall out Boy's singer. Same image too. I just don't see the difference in how they sound. Maybe I don't listen to that type of music enough. But still, what's the big hype?

First off- i dont think Brendon Urie sounds anything like FOBs or AARs singers...maybe thats just me. the big hype is that even though people deny it, they really dont sound like anything else out there. they are not afraid to make music that they like, and they dont give a damn about what people will think about it. However, i hate to admit that alot of the hype is about the attractiveness of the band, although personally i think its ridiculous to listen to a band based on what they look like... they eyes and ears are very differnent body parts ;)

    edit:

i aslo feel like youve only listened to there old album, becuase you said panic! at the disco, they are no just plain old panic at the disco, and there new album is pretty.odd. and thats exactly what it is, but also wonderful. check it out :)

Well if you're gonna talk about their image, at least do SOME research first. The Panic guys have well, grown up a bit since their last album, and they're perfomances are also less theatrical. They're not emo, never were. Sooo, I don't know which of their songs you've heard but they've really changed their sound from 2-3years ago. Also, find some recent pictures of them and take look.

Their music is completely different from FOB or AAR. Take some time to compare the songs and maybe YOU'LL see the difference.

Haaa. They are amazing, really talented and creative musicians.

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.

I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

i personally believe that the hype is that they're new (ish), by "new" i mean that a lot of people are just discovering them. it's like this with a lot of bands that get really big really fast. think about it, thay were a number 1 band with their first album. (on another personal note, i am a fan)

well first off i really like their music and lyrics and second they are young and hot. their new cd is very different from the old one. i still really like both of them though. listen to their new album. they put more time and work into their newer one called pretty odd.
