can i get an insurance agent's license if i have a criminal background?

i have 3 misdameanor charges from 2001 for retail theft(under $30 and property recoverd) and possession of a controlled substance nad possesion of marijuanna (both personal use) will this stop me from getting my license? i know they do a background check and it will show but does that mean i cant get a license?

    Yes you can still get your license. They are looking for felony convictions and sex offences. They are not going to care about petty misdemeanor charges from 7 years ago. As long as you don't have any felony convictions, or sex offences, you will be fine.

    Not in Louisiana unless you pull political strings and have cash to float under the table. I used to sell Insurance and the job is not worth all the hassle and passing the tests and etc. Good Luck!
