Order of teeth?
My daughter has been showing signs of teething for what seems like months, which I know can be normal. I had been looking at her bottom gums for her first teeth but now found two huge, swollen bumps on the top (what would seem to be lateral incisors or eye teeth) where it looks like her first ones will come in. My question is this: has anyone ever had their baby's top lateral incisors or eye teeth come in first? Is this common?

I just had a question about this yesterday (but I didn't put it on yahoo answers). My son is nine months old and his two top teeth are coming in first (not the incisors, just the two front teeth). He's not even showing too many signs that the bottom are coming in-the top was swollen for at least two months and looked as if those teeth were begging to come out! Bottom has nothing like this! I suppose it's not normal that top teeth come in first, but it's not impossible-my son is living proof!

my baby got her two bottom teeth at the same time. they were her first to cut through. she showed signs of teething since 2 months (horrible drooling) and didn't get them til almost 7 months. i'm sure there have been babies that get top teeth first and there are even some babies born with teeth. i think it is more common for the bottom teeth first.

here is a site that offers pictures of what teeth come in first, and how many months your baby should be when they start to appear:

plus it also answers on what you can do when your baby is in pain, what are the signs of teething...etc

I don't think it is common but you should definitely tell her pediatrician. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though. Good luck.
