plannin on getting a 360....?
well im planning on getting a 360, and with the possible price cut to 199 for the basic console, makes it more the reason to get. And also, with fable 2 coming out, just really makes me wanna get one... but unfortunately, they only thing thats stopping me from getting one is the red ring of death... my cousin who got a 360 and it got rrod so he got a new one just last october with the hdmi thing that was suppose to stop the rrod, but recently he just got the rrod.
I just did some research though, and it seemed that most rrod are caused by overheating, and im planning on playing it in my room, which reaches like 80 degrees, so im kind of scared of that too, but i just really want fable 2, gears 2, etc but im afraid im might just be wasting money when it breaks...

get a PS3, it has more hard drive, it has blueray. its so much better. PS3 list of new games coming out blows away xbox's. and MGS4, the best game ever, a ps3 exclusive. who cares about Halo or Gears of war, way overrated.

my room gets extremely hot during the summer also and my xbox 360 is fine and i got it for christmas, my room hits over 100 sometimes so ou should be ok with that, and i believe the newer systems have been fixed with the rrod problem because i havnt gotten it once and i have one of the newer systems, the ones made this year shouldnt be getting the rrod
do not buy an intercooler they do nothing but destroy your 360 and are known to make it even worse, just leave it in an opened area with space around it standing straight up and you should be fine

more importantly, the RRoD is realy a non-issue on the newer systems. Long story short, they use a new motherboard now, it dosent heat up, and dosen't have the warping that caused the RRoD. If it's got an HDMI port (and it's not an elite) you should be all good

My cousins' 360 broke with the ring of death. It sucks because even though she's getting it repaired, all of her memory is gone! And she got really far!

they have intercoolers that hook on to the back of the 360 and its keeps your x box cooler so it wont overheat . you can get the intercoolers at walmart and probably other stores as well. hopes this helps
