bad I won't even watch baseball anymore if the same team wins it every year what is the point. Yankees fans have a point they have such a large fan base but it can only grow so far and if everyone roots for one team all these other teams that don't have a shot will stop watching and then pretty soon there won't be as many teams in the MLB which would be bad. They have already saturated ticket sales and merchandise so basically it turns fans off that root for mid to low market teams that get a great team from their AA & AAA affiliates and then have to sell them to teams like the Yankees because they can't afford them anymore. EX. Cleveland 1997 they went to the World Series and sold out every game yet still lossed $20 mil because they had to pay those guys. Cleveland now, they had to sell C.C. to the Yankees, and look at how many players that the Dodgers have that are former Indians. There are many teams like that look at Detroit they saved up money and used it all in 2006 & 2007 to get to the world series in 2006 & have a bad season on 2007. There are a dozen teams like that, and I would like to point out it's not just the Yankees, but they are the bigger ones, same with L.A. & Boston

[Short answer: the Yankees winning is great for Yankee fans but pretty neutral for most other fans and maybe a little discouraging for fans of small market teams.] 1. Fr Ticket sales next season Only Yankee ticket sales. They may sell out their over priced stadium more. I doubt Pirates or Royals fans are going to rush to buy tickets because the Yankees won. 2. Fr generating interest in the sport Not really. Maybe a bit but New York's already a big baseball town I doubt it's creating all that many new fans.I guess some more people will jump on the Yankees bandwagon now but that's about it. 3. Fr Merchandise sales Yeah the Yankees will make lots of money selling more Yankee caps to non-baseball fans who think it looks cool to wear them. Yay. 4. Fr parody Parody? No because it's harder to make fun of them when they win. :) (jk, I assume you mean "parity" and the answer is still no. Yankees winning=the rich getting richer) 5. Does having the Evil Empire win reestablish a villain with in the sport that is not PED related, and make baseball more interesting? *shrug* Maybe for some people who are just getting into baseball. Most established fans already either love or hate the Yankees I think.
