Why are so many of the Christian opposers of evolution offended by the suggestion that man is just an animal?

A "my way or the highway" mentality.

No. I have studied the Hebrew language and the bible multiple times. The bible makes it clear women weren't created for men in that manner. In the bible it says that Eve was created as a helper-mate(companion). In the ancient Hebrew language the word used has two meanings: -You would use the world helper mate to describe a person who 'saves' others. -A co-worker or partner. In fact the same word is used in Psalms when it describes God being a 'helper' to humankind. Yet he is far superior than humankind. Woman was created to complete the world. The world couldn't be complete without women... God couldn't say "it was good" until women were created. Clearly Eve is not created for men in the manner that many people think. Adam couldn't survive on his own. He needed a partner to rule the world with him. If anything women should feel honored by the fact that God saw this desperate need for them. It is a false idea that men were created for God and women created for men. Paul clears this up in Corinthians when he says that Eve came from Adams rib in the beginning, but these days all men come from women. We are intertwined.. and I remember Paul ending the passage by saying "All things are from God" showing that all things are from God and for God. Not to mention Paul, later in the bible, reminds men of Even and Adam. The men were trying to control the women and Paul said "Remember, women were created because men could not survive on their own." He was trying to remind the men that women were created for a reason and men shouldn't take that for granted. Why would I be offended by your views? The bible makes it clear we are cretaed for eachother.

If you read Sumerian epics they describe the first humans eating food like grazers and living in the same environment as the animals. If you read Genesis 1:26 and have it collect it's common sense then it could be re translated as ' And the gods said, let us remake, existing man in our image after our likeness.

Right. We live in animal bodies with a soul that hosts our spirits for a physical experience.

Yeah, the end of Ecclesiastes 6 also says nobody knows what happens after we die, but they ignore that, too.

That verse means some men have fallen to the same state as animals and operate on an animal level.

He speaks of Dieing NOT us being a beasts!!! and WE were placed ABOVE the beasts and WE were breathed into us and made US a living soul . He placed man Above ALL beasts and man has Dominion over them All .

TO say WE ALL DIE at some point whether it be beast or man , is vanity .

Should we not then have preminace above beasts ? BUT the preacher says WE ALL BOTH DIE so then WE have NO preminance above them , cause its appointed to ALL to die!!!

I'm actually honored to be considered an animal. Animals have a closer connection to the earth and spirit world than we probably ever will.

I am not sure offended is a good word, just that they have yet to see one piece of evidence that what evolutionist say is the truth.

its not that christans are oposed by the suggestion that we are animals, it the suggestion that we evolved from apes, and that we werent made by the hands of God. evolutionists dont say the same thing. they try to convince the world that science proves all. that we started out as little algea blobs and eventually went to apes, then moved up to what we are today. yes, its true that we are all animals, we see that in the bible, as you pointed out. but we also see in the bible that we were made by God, exactly how we are today. God made man, adam, and woman, eve, to appear how we are. it also says in the bible that we are dominant over nature. so, yes weare animals, but we are still dominant over most. and we DIDNT COME FROM MONKEYS.
