Bridal shower decoration help!?

I'm throwing a bridal shower for my best friend...there is no theme...but I guess we could do a summerish theme if we needed. What are some basic ways to decorate? It will be at a church.

You should decorate it with things the bride can use! My sister in law did one for her friend where she made the centerpieces with kitchen items like pot holders, whisk, spatula, spoons and things like that and just made it look really neat. After the wedding the bride could take all the centerpieces home and use their contents in her new home. That way you aren't wasting your money on stuff that the bride can't use! The idea of a shower is to give gifts and kitchen stuff is always important.

Also, you could do a special apron for the bride like one that has something cute embrodered on it special for the bride!

Just an idea..not really a summer theme but I think, overall, it's a good idea :)

Perfect question - I just did this same type of shower for my BF. As the maid of honor - I was nervous that I wouldn't find the "right" way to decorate.

Go with a summer theme - right now so many things are on sale - it's perfect timing! Go to Jo-Ann fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Target for some great discounted decor!

Good luck! To correlate - serve refreshing summer foods: pasta salad, oriental salad, chicken and/or tuna salad. Stay away from heavy foods. Serve lemonade, iced tea, water, and have a select of mix-in packets as well.

i think i would go with something simple and fun, depending on when the shower is.

for a fall wedding shower, i painted small terra cotta pots chocolate brown, and planted different color mums in each one. if it's a summer shower you could put any bright flower in the pot. it looks great on the tables, and they make great prizes for your games!!!

we had long tables, so there were two mums on each table, with three votives around each. i bought small river rock at pier1 imports and sprinkled it down the center of the table. it was gorgeous.

for favors we used small white chinese take out boxes. i filled them with choc. chip cookies and tied a choc. brown satin bow around each box.

there really wasn't a theme, i just made the colors the theme and carried it throughout (brown, orange, yellow, purple, red, sage, ivory). it turned out very pretty....i think the bride was amazed we pulled off something so classy and pretty in a church basement! :)

i recommend using tableclothes to dress things up. you should be able to find some on clearance this time of year. i was at bed bath and beyond last friday, and theirs were all clearanced.

also, if you set each place, it looks elegant and lovely. at each spot we had a "bride bingo" card that we printed on sage green cardstock, with the favor placed above it. it really made the tables look finished.

good luck, it will turn out great!!

Check out your local party store, they have bells, doves, glittery parasols, banners, etc. That should give you some ideas. Crepe paper, balloons and confetti are always classic too!

    Good luck!

Use bright fun colors. Gerbera daisies are always fun and come in a variety of colors.
