Can I cook a steak in the oven with aluminum foil?

Is it possible for me to wrap a steak in aluminum then put it in the oven and cook it that way?

Can i just make like a little bag out of the aluminum foil then put spices in and cook?

Update:

Any ideas on cooking times

Certainly, it is a good method for cooking steak if it is a little tough as it helps to tenderise it, and it is cooking in its own juices so you don't lose the flavour of the meat.

sure it can be done, the classic term for this type of cooking method is called en papiotte, literally meaning" in paper"but foil works to,usually reserved for fish but anything will do..try using,

onions ,garlic, rosemary, thyme of course salt and pepper, even a little worchestershire is good...

    have fun

  • yeah u can u can also do it with salmon but its the best idea to cook it on a grilling pan
