Yes I have..I have a Janome and I use it a lot.. fix jeans and pants and also make curtains and other things.
Cant live with out it.

I have an ancient Singer Sowing machine that I used to use alot - but I don't use so much anymore because she is really getting old

Yes. I use the one that belonged to my late mother. I mainly use it to alter hems on pants and skirts. I'm only 5 feet in height. "Petite" clothes still aren't petite enough for me, Since they're designed to fit women 4'11" to 5'3. if you're on the shorter end of that height range, as I am... You still have to alter the hems.
