drusteele: So I did go to factcheck.org, whats your point? I did not see anything to radically challenge the link that was posted by randy as part of his question. Is there something specific you wanted to point out. On the front page right now I did notice the inaccurate claim that Obama drove social security reform in Illinois but that probably was not what you were referring to.
And speaking of factcheck.org, you may want to submit your absurd assertion that McCain will just extend the war and Obama has a clear focus on where to go. Last year Obama insisted on not having a surge and pulling out the troops in 16 months because we had no chance of winning the war. This month he supports pulling out the troops in 16 months because we are close to winning the war. And he refuses to accept that the surge had anything to do with it - apparently it was sheer coincidence. Despite the fact that almost every military analyst as well as the Iraqi government and the Awakening groups say that it was crucial (though admittedly not the sole cause). In essence, Obamas plan is to pull out whether we win or lose. In practical terms this guarantees that we lose because any insurgent with half a brain knows that all he needs to do is wait till the troops have left a particular area before attacking.
As for economics, the link provided above does show that McCains position has traction. Even I don't agree with every one of his positions, I think we need to be a lot more fiscally conservative to eliminate the deficit - but that pales before Obamas large government plans. His universal health system alone is so patently ridiculous that I can't even believe he really supports it, leave alone anyone else. I kind of feel sorry for Hillary for proposing a scheme that wasn't perfect but it was feasible because she had worked out the numbers. Obamas plan is more to propose pie in the sky and then "hope" that we can pay for it somehow.
I certainly don't believe any candidates economic proposals are flawless, but McCain has a better record of fighting for fiscal conservatism and has proposals that are more grounded. I wish McCain would do more but he is well in the lead by my reckoning.

McCain will not do better with the war...he will just extend it. Obama has a clear focus as to where the war on terror should go and I support that.
