AAAARRRRRRRhhhhhhhhh!!!!?

I've read one too many questions that have run "we've been together for X years and he won't marry me", "we've been living together for 14 years and have 6 kids and we won't divorce his wife and marry me", "I've told him marry me or I'm gone and he won't marry me, should I leave?"

Here's a radical idea:

How about if ALL of the women who want to get married to their SOs PROPOSE to their men instead of issuing ultimatums or whining about how he won't marry them? THEN if he rejects your proposal, you KNOW he doesn't want to marry you and you are FREE to continue on as you were knowing he will not marry you or you can move on and find someone who wants what you want.

I know, I know...what would we do for vicarious entertainment if everyone suddenly thought rationally.

    Loved this rant. So true!!!

Marriage is not what it is cracked up to be. Ladies...if you forget the fairytale image in your head and really look at what marriage is, it's a financial contract. That's all.

Single people who live together can sign other agreements which give them the same rights as married people. The only two exceptions are that single people can't transfer property upon death tax free and a widow/widower cannot claim Social Security benefits based on the deceased lifetime wages. Other than those two things, single couples can have all the same rights and benefits as married couples.

What these girls really want is the public proclamation of love while wearing a $5,000 dress and a $10,000 ring.

Ask the guys for a commitment ring and move on without the paperwork. That's what I did and we are just as committed as any "married" couple.

Well now if all the whiny brats got off their *** and asked the guys then what would me and you do for entertainment. Im all for it, if the guy hasnt asked yet, then he isnt going to. Why buy the cow when they can get the milk for free.

It sounds like good reasoning to me; but people will continue to ask that question.

i thought people were brighter than that.

Some of these questions seem so unreal.

    You know what they say:

Common sense is not so common.

The problem is, a lot of women stick around even if they know their s/o doesn't WANT to marry them.
