Traveling to a Mets game?
I am coming down from Albany NY to see a Mets game which is on a Monday at 1 o'clock. I want to watch some BP and get autographs, so with a 1 o'clock game when should I leave, knowing there is a ton of traffic in NYC

Best way to do it is drive to Poughkeepsie and get the Metro North train from there to Grand Central, then take the subway to the game (or Amtrak from Rensselaer if you don't mind that it's about 6 times the price)
To do that in time for batting practice before a 1:00 game, I'd recommend getting to the 8:49 train (Metro North is almost always on time, they'll have the train sitting in Poughkeepsie ready to go well before it's time), so leaving between 7 and 7:30, depending on where you are in Albany
That should get you to Shea at around 11:30
To the people saying leave at 9 to drive... with any traffic at all, you'd probably miss first pitch... best case, that'd get you there for the end of batting practice. If you're set on driving and making BP, you should leave by 8, 8:30 at the latest

You know New York man, there is more traffic than there are fat people in Mississippi and that is a lot!
If you want to catch some BP I say you should leave at around 9 AM.
