Republicans really don't believe in themselves?

If all we are doing in Iraq is a success, and we're winning or have already won, then why are Dick Cheney and Condi Rice quitting their jobs at year's end? When one is successful, don't they want to continue with their project?

Update:

Thank you. I am writing a term paper on hate in America, and how people can't give an opinion anymore with chastising someone. Thanks so much!

Update 2:

Had you been able to think you would realize that Cheney could have run for Prez, and Condi for VP chosen by him, but they already quit on their country, and decided not to run for office, but to run away....

You get a star for asking the dumbest question I've seen since "Who is George Washington?"

  • 1 decade ago

A new administration has the liberty to pick their own cabinet members. Vice President Cheney is ineligible to become V.P. under a new administration unless the new president selects him as their running mate.

Therefore, they are not quitting their jobs.

As for your article on hate, make sure you include some references to the left wing in this country that brands anything they disagree with as "hate."

What? Once your president leaves, his cabinet and v.p. don't just get to decide if they want to keep coming into work everyday. Their time ends with his.

Edit: In your paper, you are going to mention the difference in the tone of the responders when presented with a decent (aka not thoroughly ridiculous) question and one that was clearly chosen to invoke sarcasm, right? Because doing otherwise would seem to compromise the objectivity of the term paper. Also, your response to "chastising" makes you sound like a smug jackass.

They are not "quitting" their jobs. Their their time is up-simple as that. The only way Cheney could continue his job is if McCain chose him as vice president and Condi Rice is selected to continute in her role by whoever become president.

When you get to 5th grade you will understand more about how Washington works.

If you want, have mommy or daddy drive you to the library, or have sissy or bro work the mouse for you and look some stuff up on the Internet, OK?

lol One is in Bush's Administration, the other is Bush's Vice president. They don't get to keep their jobs when a new president takes over.

    God what a stupid question.
