Have a 6 month old baby boy but can't seem to lose the baby weight...help?

Hi there. I had my first baby boy 6 months ago and I am having such a difficult time losing the weight. I lost alot already, but i'm just kind of stuck on a plateau. I eat healthy, don't smoke or drink, and exercise as much as possible. My husband has been overseas for the last 14 months and i've had to take care of our son the last 6 by myself. I just don't have any time for myself, let alone to exercise more than I already do. He came home for our vow renewal 3 weeks ago and when I put on my wedding dress, I was hugely disappointed with the way I looked. Can anyone give any advice on how to drop some pounds fast? We're meeting in Chicago next saturday (the 2nd) and I would like to look somewhat slimmer when we see his family. Thanks!

    No good ideas for dropping the weight fast. It's not healthy. It will make your tired and feel awful. You are not likely getting any sleep or rest as it is - caring for a 6 month old by yourself. Do you really want to add that additional stress to your situation?

    It took nearly 10 months to put the weight on, at least give yourself that much to take it off. The first year is baby boot-camp - no sleep and going non-stop. Walk with the baby whenever you can and run in short bursts here and there if he will tolerate it in his stroller. Eat as healthy as you can.

    I love Prevention.com for tips on healthy weight loss and recipes. I just wrote a couple of articles about fitness goals for for summer and how to stay on track on vacation from a Mom's perspective. http://buzz.prevention.com/community/category/runn... A really useful tool on the site is "My Health Tracker" which customizes things just for you.

    The family will not notice the extra weight. They will be too busy in awe of the little guy, and all he is doing. Your husband will not notice unless you draw his attention to it by your self-consciousness. He is just happy to be with you and very proud to have a wife that strong.

    You are doing so many things right! Be proud of yourself for all you've done during the pregnancy and the last 6 months, and show yourself a little love!

    Are you breastfeeding? If you are don't worry too much..it's good for the baby. If you are not, don't worry too much, you have a baby that demands your attention. He is the most important thing in your lives now. The beauty comes second. Wait till he is 1 yr. old and able to walk..He will help you exercise more then you have ever imagine :) You have nothing to prove to his parents, they already know the body is changing while you are having a baby- This is a good opportunity to ask your mother in law questions, she will be glad to advice you..Take care..it's just a matter of time. Enjoy this moments, they never come back with the same intensity :)

    pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

    when you eat calorie friendly fruits and vegetables that are in season they tend to taste better and you re more likely to enjoy them

    Do 45 minutes cardio workouts a few times a week

    fast food is salty food if you cut back on the salt in a few weeks youll be able to better taste the natural salts in food and may not crave the junk as much as you used to
