What is the most exciting piece a good High School Orchestra could perform?

    Without a doubt - Overture to Candide by Bernstein. But you better be REALLY good - I have head this done by All-State level groups here in NY - I am a judge.

    The arrival of the queen of Sheba is quite good by Handel. Not sure of the arranger or publisher sorry but I'm sure you'd find the copy quite easily!

    You can't beat a good rousing performance of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Not easy, admittedly, but if you're good, it's worth the effort.

    Bohemian Rhapsody - by Queen. Awesome song, combines choir and orchestra, quite long though.

    Our high school did Pirates of the Caribbean music. I liked it and they preformed in front of the whole school and everyone agreed that it was the only thing that didn't suck ***.

    alot of movie soundtracks could give you some inspiration.

    maybe some music from:

    -Phantom of the opera

    -star wars movies

    -pirates of the carribean movies

    -indiana jones movies

    -jurrasic park movies

    and etc.

    any pirates of the carribean songs. I used to be in the school orchestra, we played one, and omg i loved it.
